RARE 1939 17” Scarlett O’Hara Doll made by Madame Alexander. It appears this doll lived in her box most of her 86 years. She is in impeccable condition. She is all original wearing her tagged dress, slip, pinafore, socks and leather shoes. She is wearing her original doll tag and comes in her original box. The box is taped and worn but the label is in great condition. Scarlett has wonderful face coloring and blush on her knees. There are no crazing I can see but her middle finger has a crack on the side. Scarlett’s eyes are crystallized which is common for these dolls. Scarlett’s dress is tearing in different areas. I believe it’s caused from elements stored in the box for many years and the light fabric the dress is made from. The tears don’t distract from the beauty of the doll. Scarlett’s slip and pinafore are in excellent condition. She is wearing her original hair piece on wig. The wig is in excellent condition. A beautiful doll!
